What is agent identity?

AI agents run without any real identity, code executing somewhere with no way to prove who owns it or answer for what it does. As agents start transacting and holding funds on their own, services have no way to tell a genuine, human-backed agent apart from a bot running spam or fraud.

The Verified Agent Identity skill solves that: it gives any AI agent a decentralized identifier (DID) on the Billions Network and links it permanently and verifiably, on-chain, to a real human owner — a process called human-agent pairing.

An agent’s actions (payments, data access, on-chain transactions) trace back to a real, verifiable human owner instead of disappearing into anonymous code.

Sybil & bot resistance

Proof of Uniqueness guarantees one verified human maps to exactly one on-chain identity, so one operator can’t farm hundreds of “verified” agents.

Spam protection for services

APIs and platforms can require a human-backed attestation before granting access, cutting off unverified bot traffic without blocking legitimate agents.

None of this asks the agent to give up its autonomy. The agent still holds its own keys and acts on its own; pairing only adds a public, tamper-proof record of who stands behind it, which anyone can independently verify without exposing the human’s personal data.

When asked to link its identity, the agent produces a verification link scoped to this specific human-agent pairing.

Human verifies in the Billions Web Wallet

The human opens the link and confirms a Proof of Uniqueness credential, claiming one for the first time if they don’t already have one.

Permanent attestation goes on-chain

A public, permanent attestation links the human’s verified identity to the agent’s DID, checkable by anyone at any time.
